This February was the worst on record here in Wisconsin!  Not only did we have record cold and ice- we also were treated to an all-time record snowfall!

As a friend said, “March usually comes in like a lion- this year, it came in like a T Rex, on PMS, and wearing barbed wire underwear”.  And this is no exaggeration…

There was lots of snow shoveling going on all about.  My new (used) snowblower I got last fall (I’ve never had one before, relying on snow shoveling by hand as a built in winter workout), stopped working, and I just left it.  ( I suspect old, bad gas in the carb, but it has been too cold to even work on it).  Besides which, the snow was often so wet and icy that a snowblower would just kind of freeze up even while it was working.

So, I shoveled.  And shoveled.  And shoveled again, day after day- endlessly, on and on.  Finally, there was nowhere left put the snow, unless above my head height.  So, I went down the hill, where I park my Kubota tractor complete with a loader!  (Play harp music here)- 

And I got stuck in the snow!!

My Amish built shed is down low on my property, and so I have to climb a long hill to get up to my driveway and walk.  But the snow was so deep, that I got stuck, mainly because the snow covered a thick layer of slick ice.  

I left it there, shining orange in the yard as a an orange badge of shame and defeat to the neighbors, and went back to- shoveling.  Endlessly.  And what happened to me, is what happened to pretty much everyone around here that shoveled by hand- I tweaked my back!  

Now, I pride myself, as PaleoJay, who is a lifelong physical culturist, as never having back (or any other physical) troubles.  But, my back just said ‘this is enough’, and I was out of the running- er, shoveling game. 

Swallowing my pride, I went to my tractor in supplication, and started it up.  I found that by using the bucket in front I could lift myself up, and slowly drag myself forward.  Then, digging a deep path for myself, I laboriously dug a road for myself across my yard, and gradually upwards, until I gained the side just before the road- which had been mountainously walled off by the town snowplow to the size of a small mountain.  

I had to drag this snow mountain down, backwards with my bucket, and set it to the side.  Bit by bit, bucket by bucket- and finally, at last- I was on the road.  And from then on, I laughed each time it snowed.  

But still, my back needed repair.  Thankfully, I know how to go about this, and I will pass it on to you.  

First, you need to stretch.  Religiously, each morning, lying on the floor (I lay on my trusty yoga mat that I exercise on each morning anyway).  I always end up with a back bend, where I lay flat on the ground, and rock back slowly onto my forehead and toes, which are all that supports me as I stretch back to try to touch my nose to the mat.  (I’ll put a photo on the website at paleojay.com)   This is the best decompressive move for your spine that you can do, and is in addition a total body isometric of the first order.  Hold for a minute or more if you can, then slowly lower yourself- you will feel great, this is also a wonderful neck exercise.

Then, usually later in the day, I will do my basement workout, which finishes with the very best back exercise you can do to fix your back.  Strangely, it is called the JEFFERSON CURL, although it is for your back, not your biceps!  I will again include an instructional video on paleojay.com.

Here is how it goes:  You need a sturdy platform on which to stand, about 6-8” tall.  And, unlike most exercise that I recommend, you do need a weight like a barbell.  A dumbell can also work, but a barbell is best.

So, you mount the platform, upon which you are resting the barbell.  Bend your knees, and pick up the bar as you stand.  Next, slowly lower the bar, as you lower it by bending from the lower back, vertebrae by vertebrae.  When you get parallel with the platform, lower the bar slowly even further, letting the weight of the barbell slowly pull you down until you bottom out.  

Then, slowly go back up, vertebrae by vertebrae, until you are again standing erect.  Smoothly lower again, repeating the process, for ten repetitions.  End again with the bar resting on the platform, and step down.  

You have just decompressed, while simultaneously strengthening your entire spine (and your hamstrings as well).  One set of these, once or twice per week is all that you need, and the weight does not need to be excessive- I’d say start anywhere, maybe a bare bar, and gradually work up to about 100 pounds.  The low back is quite strong, when reasonably conditioned, and when strengthened thusly it renders your back to be almost bulletproof!

The only other thing you should do for your back is to brachiate- this is a fancy term for hanging from a bar, or stairwell, or a beam in the garage where you do your chinups.  This is excellent traction, and will decompress your spine in a hurry.  

And there it is: Perfectly Paleo Back Repair!  It brought me back around quickly, and it will you as well- just don’t get your tractor stuck first of all.  Then, none of this would have happened in the first place!

When I read of this recently, I was more than repelled- I was outraged!  

As I’ve said before: if you destroy your own history- that which makes you and your peoples unique- you are committing cultural and racial suicide.  

Amazingly, strangely, and disgustingly- this is what Western Europe is doing currently.  They have allowed, no- encouraged- the mass immigration and invasion of their sovereign countries by low IQ invaders from the Muslim world, and Africa!  

My only explanation of just as to why they would do such a thing- (It would never happen in those countries and regions that they would not only allow such an invastion of Whites into their countries- but to actually pay them to come over and destroy them??!!)  Who could ever be this stupid?
Well, apparently the SWEDES are:  

Only Marxism/Liberalism could ever explain such a travesty.  This is all about power for global elitists, and nothing about actual benefit for the people who are living in their own country- that country that was built by their ancestors for them: their descendents!  I mean, don’t we all want to build, and leave a better country and life for our progeny?  Isn’t that what the advance of Western Civilization has been about for millenia?

Long ago, the ancient people who wanted better for themselves and their children, left Africa.  They ventured forth into a much harsher, northern environment, determined to survive and thrive.  

Meanwhile, those they had left behind in Africa, just- languished, and  kind of just stayed the same: they just hunted, lived in the moment, and evolved physically, rather than mentally.  

In Mother Africa, to survive, and breed was enough!  To hunt, to gather- and then do the same again tomorrow, day after day- that was the ancient lesson.  And breed- survival meant the species survival, not the individual!  And so it has been there, since time immemorial…

But, for those who left- the adventurous, enterprising ones: they had chosen adversity!  A harsh climate, with which they must contend, for mere survival.  These folk trudged northwards, into lands of ice and snow, determined to carve out a future in uncrowded, although harsh lands.  

There, they met up with the Neanderthals, who actually had larger brain capacity than the homosapiens from Africa.  They interbred, and ultimately not only increased their intellect thereby, but also made them more able to deal with the northern lands, by lightening their skin, (for increased vitamin D creation), and also lightening their hair and eye color.  

These folk, our European ancestors, made us able to cope with the harsh northern latitudes.

And now: evolution happened!  

Our ancestors moved further and further from our ancestral, basically stuck-in-time, low IQ roots.  We started to create real civilizations!  Cooperative, altruistic tribes that knew they could only survive in the increasingly harsh climes of the north by working together.  

For the Ice Ages were beginning, back then in the infancy of our racial growth and eventual dominance.  

Our ever-inventive ancestors, working together, learned, evolved, and forged themselves into a group of people that were not only capable of surviving a complete Ice Age: but were able to evolve as they did so into a people of sophisticated weaponry, where they could kill giant woolly mammoths to survive, using cunningly contrived flint blades and spears.

And, along the way, they learned that they could only do such things by working cooperatively.  As a united tribe, directed largely by a patriarchal unit of tested and tried warriors.  

Meanwhile, back in Africa, none of this ocurred.  Everything remained the same- same patterns of behavior (endless tribal war, violence and dominance of women, breeding to capacity).    

Much, much later, after the European humans had developed advanced, western civilization, and differentiated themselves dramatically from their African ancestors, the two came back into contact.  

For awhile, the Europeans, who were now termed Whites because of their evolved skin pigment fitting for the north, had the complete upper hand!  More intelligent, a superior cultural system- they had it all.  

But, cutting ahead to the modern age, the altruism of our western, northern ancestors eventually reappeared, particularly amongst our females, who have evolved to help the weak and helpless above all!

Evolved men and tribes of the North had given more power, prestige, and above all rights to women than any other people in all of history.  White Men give women more power and prestige than any- any other folk in all of history!  

Logic and reason, also developed by white men of the North, had so shaped and determined that this was right.  Our Neanderthal aquired intellect, along with subsequent evolution in harsh climes, had so made us…


Eventually, we gave more and more power to our Western women.  Pathological Alrutism, developed long ago to ensure harsh, northern survival, then reemerged, and made us feel guilty!  


Guilty about our success!  We had ventured north, and struggled for thousands of years.  We had triumphed!  Not only with our dominant civilation, but with our knowledge, our technology, but with our ultimate mastery of systems and organization of our countries, towns, and cities!  We had achieved, after endless long eras of war, effort, and looking back over history a really wonderful, civilized, and productive Western World of Civilization!

Here is where Liberal, Leftist, and above all Feminist guilt appears!  

Europe is the worst case in point.  England, via Teresa May, and German with Merkel.  And SWEDEN!  

Who would have ever thought that the country of the Vikings would be welcoming, and even paying for the invasion of their own countries??

Well, welcome the patholigical altrusim.  The downside of winning- of dominating the human race, and civilization itself.  We feel compelled to help the LOSERS.   

The tribes and cultures we beat.  The losers- we feel guilty about WINNING.  

It’s like it’s a high school basketball of football game: we ran up the score too much- that’s mean!

And so, the most successful, stress-free among us- (Like the Swedes), feel compelled to ‘give away their countries to the losers’!!!!

And that is precisely what they have done.  

They are giving away their very history!  They have given ultimate power over their history to outsiders, a black inferior woman- out of misplaced guilt.  

Their Viking Ancestors, drinking at Odin’s board in Valhalla, are burning with righteous anger!  

As am I.

Save Your Teeth and Gums- Naturally! On Paleo Quick Tip of the Day podcast





Overall health is my hobby, and so an ancestral, paleo type of life is what I follow.  An overlooked yet essential part of natural health is having a healthy mouth, with shiny white teeth and vibrant gums, free of infection and cavities!


It’s not hard to achieve this, especially if you are already eating a paleo sort of diet of real, natural, God made foods in lieu of processed crap.  If you have eliminated bread and other grain products, (you know, the kind that stick to your teeth) and that turn to sugar right in your mouth- well, you have half the battle won right there!

Here is the other half to address:  Oil pull each morning!

If you are unfamiliar with oil pulling ( I find even now that almost no one knows anything about it), it simply means to take a teaspoon or so of oil into your mouth, and swish it all about, through your teeth, and all around your whole mouth, bathing it over and over for about 5 or 10 minutes.  This might seem time consuming and onerous, but if you do it while you take your morning shower if takes literally no additional time at all!

In my daily routine, I first do my morning workout of about an hour or so.  (I do this pretty much every single day, and recommend you do so as well).  Not for oral health, but because strenthening and stretching exercise is crucial for overall health and wellness- expecially as you get older!  

Then, I go into the bathroom, and put a fingerfull of coconut oil from the jar I keep in there into my mouth, and start swishing.  I don’t even think about it, it’s just pure habit, something I do every single morning.  Next, I dry brush my body, and then my hair and scalp.  (Again, not for oral health, but for skin health- also, it just feels great).

Then I keep swishing as I take my shower.  Afterwards, I towel off, and then use my hair dryer!  This is a new addition; I never ever used a hair dryer until this winter- I read about how a hair dryer (mine cost $10) can prevent athlete’s foot and any other fungus, even killing it on your skin.  So, after drying my hair (the dryer will also eliminate fungus if on your scalp), I use it between my toes and on my groin to completely dry those areas, and kill any fungus spores that may be lurking.  

Needless to say, I’m still ‘swishing’ throughout!  Oh, there are two additional benefits of a hair dryer, neither of them dental- it warms up a cold bathroom, and it defogs your mirror in a heartbeat!

Now stick with me: I will get back to oral health again now, I just can’t resist telling you about these other beneficial practices that go on at the same time as I am swishing away the bad bacteria in my mouth.  For that is what happens from this oil pulling: the oil smothers and destroys all of the bad bacteria that is trying to gain a foothold in your mouth, and also makes it a non-acidic environment, since it is an acid environment that such bacteria loves and can thrive in.

Later, after you have eaten breakfast (hopefully along with a paleo smoothie!), you can rinse out your mouth with a xylitol mouth rinse.  Now here is the crux of mouth health, really, for me- xylitol, a sweetener made from birch bark or corn husks, has amazing properties pertaining to oral health!

Here is a little story: back in Finland, during WW1, sugar was unobtainable in the country.  It was learned how to make a sweetener that tasted just like sugar, and measured the same (1 cup of sugar = 1 cup of xylitol), was completely natural, and safe.  

Years later, a certain doctor noticed that those children who had consumed this xylitol during the war years had remarkably good teeth as adults- no cavities, healthy and vibrant, even all these years later!  

He investigated, and it turned out that Xylitol actually starves bad bacteria on the teeth and gums!  The bacteria is fooled, since it is so sweet, and consumes the xylitol rabidly, greedily- but, since the xylitol has no nutrients they can use, they literally starve to death.  The plaque, which is produced by such harmful bacteria on the teeth and gums, goes away.  In addition, xylitol actually encourages the body to remineralize teeth that have begun to decay, since there is no plaque to prevent it!

So there you have it - rinse with xylitol rinse daily.  I make my own now, buying Xylitol (I also use it for baking), and dissolving the white crystals into a jar of water I keep in my bathroom.  I also use a toothpaste at night that contains xylitol- Earthpaste- by the wonderful Redmond Salt company, after I brush thoroughly before bed.  And I don’t rinse after brushing with this paste!  I want that xylitol residue to remain, protecting my oral cavity all night long.

And here is my last tip:  I had hesitated replacing my electric toothbrush, since the brush heads are pricey, and the new brushes always were too.  But then, I started researching…

Nowadays, there are all kinds of ‘knock off’ Chinese made electric toothbrushes that are every bit the equal of the hundred dollar plus brushes, along with their $20 plus dollar replacement brush heads!  I ended up getting a rotating one (I’ve always used sonic ones before, but my wife loves her rotating one so I thought I’d try one)-  after all, why not??  The brush, along with a replacement head, was $18.95, postpaid on Amazon!

And, I’m here to tell you that it works wonderfully.  It not only scrubs your teeth far better and faster than you could by hand- it massages your gums and instills a healthy circulation at the same time!  So, get one- or more!!  At this price, it  is way cheaper than one visit to the dentist!

And, speaking of the dentist, who is oftentimes as evil as many modern medical doctors, concerned overwhelmingly only with profit- He or she will admonish you to floss floss floss, as if your failure there is the same as your failure to take enought statins and other meds to save your life and teeth…

The current science, not the prevailing dogma of fake scientism that we should all floss, is now contra-indicated- flossing does more harm than good!  It cuts into the gums, forcing plaque and bacteria into the bloodstream, while simultaneously harming the gums themselves.  So don’t FLOSS.

Like most of ancestral, paleo, ketogenic advice- true oral health runs counter to everything you’ve always been told by the “authorities”.  But, like the dietary advice, it makes perfect sense, once you’ve really looked at the science!
