Be the ideal YOU podcast on PJSC

 

I’ve kind of racked my paleolithic brain to come up with a theme for the new decade, and have decided that if I, and you all live up to our potential- fully, not kind of just sluffing along half-heartedly- we will save not only ourselves and our families, but all of western civilization!


So here is what you do:  

You start exercising, every single day!  Every MORNING- this is important! The form of exercise should be done at home, where you have complete control, and can be outside or in, depending on the weather.  It should be mainly strength training focussed, but with a large portion devoted to stretching, on the floor.  

Perfectly paleo exercise, the name of my book and ebook are ideal in utilizing self resistance, isometrics, and calisthenics.  Get some perfect pushup devices to use, but also be sure to get some gymnastic rings!  A set of these rings will do more for your fitness than anything else, ever- and will literally transform your physique and your entire physical presence.  Nothing else comes close!

This exercise is life-changing in every single way; physically of course, but also mentally and spiritually.  It changes the way you view the world (as you- the endless productive and happy self-improver!), and also in the way the world perceives you.  An admirable person who is fit, happy, and very useful and productive.  The very opposite of what most folks have slid unglamorously into- a state of slovenly self indulgence and flabbiness both of physique and resolve!  Now- you are a man (or woman) of action!


You only eat a paleo, or ancient sort of diet of real foods! 

You drop processed fake food crap- completely.  No bread, buns, pasta, cakes, cookies, low fat anything, and make your diet mostly reliant on animal products, along with a fair amount of vegetables with low oxalates and other toxins.  You will eat mostly carnivorously.   

This, along with the exercise, will change you completely from what you are (however far along the path of excellence you may be) to what you were meant to be by the ideal expression of your DNA.  

And, strangely enough, I believe it is easier to radically change your whole life for the good, than to try to gradually change, a bit at a time, half-heartedly…

That really is agonizing, gives no motivation, and just doesn’t work!  Go whole- heartedly into the GOOD, the pursuit of excellence.  It is contagious, and makes you feel great right away, and continues to expand to consume your entire being.


So now, you start to look and feel terrific.  It’s time to do more!  After your early morning workout, (after you’ve slept a good 8 hours), you eat a great paleo breakfast of a green smoothie, eggs and meat.  Time for work!  Go and do the best you can, with serving your fellow man as best you can in your job foremost in your mind.  If you have a physical job, listen to podcasts like PaleoJays Smoothie Cafe as you work, and also to well-chosen audiobooks.  Endless improvement should be your goal, and your sincerest pleasure!

If you are fortunate enough to be in my situation, and retired from active work- why then, you should do exactly the same- but even more.  Do work on your land; cut wood, stack and move it, and do any improvements you can in your spare time.  Help your neighbors (your tribe), and revel in your health, wellness and fitness that allows you to do so.  


All right- simple as those above prescriptions might seem- they really do change your life.  Be on the lookout for further improvements: swish coconut oil through your teeth as your shower. (Unsurpassed for oral health). Dry your body with a hair dryer after showering, which will kill pathogens and fungus.  Cover your body with a film of coconut oil after showering, and use if to shave.  Finish your shower with cold water!  Simple things, but they all add up to increased health.


Now that your body and mind are just endlessly improving, while most around you are degenerating, put your mind to improving your physical circumstances.  Do you live in a blue state with high taxes and high crime?  Get a gun for protection if you can, and then start planning to move out!  Save your family- move to a safe, rural area, and make provisions to defend your new home.  

Make sure your children are in a safe environment, whether home-schooled or in a conservative school district that you closely monitor for liberal indoctrination.    Call them out if they spew that leftist nonsense, and pull your kids out if you have to.  To allow the ruination and corruption of your own children is a huge crime, and it is your responsibility to make sure this does not happen.  


And if your children live with you, it is time to set them onto the path you are on!  Show them by your exercise and nutrition example, and encourage them to develop their young bodies and minds just as you are.  Strictly limit screen time, and take your kids with you into the woods and nature, rather than manufactured entertainments in town or city.  Encourage uplifting books, movies, and television, however hard it is to find!


Go to church!  If a faith body is not offered and given to your children, they will drift off into a nightmare of strange cultish separatism and fake religious ‘substitutes’.  I believe that the religious, spiritual impulse is within us all: every culture since the dawn of time has had spiritual beliefs.  To deny this in the name of ’scientism’, which is fake science espoused by the left, opens those deniers to things like celebrity worship, and a fascination with things like ‘politics as religion’, where promises of Utopia are thrown out as ‘science based’.  


And so, there are the basics!  Follow the above, exercise faithfully and eat with maximum nutrition.  Rest nightly and well, and worship with your family.  Study the classics of western civilization, and discuss it all with your family and tribe.  Avoid the liberal nonsense of what has become of the Democrats, and march to your own drummer as best you can.  


That is the key to both self-realization, true happiness, and the success and thriving of Western Civilization, which is the sum total of many such as you and yours, who do what they should to be the ideal YOU!

Paleo Diet in a Nutshell!

There is so much to learn about the Paleo diet and lifestyle; what is the best Paleo exercise, what types of foods should I eat, what should I avoid...

I've immersed myself in this stuff for quite some time now, and I learn new "wrinkles" all the time!

Research is ongoing, and the movement is still in its infancy in terms of popular acceptance, despite the fact that this is the long term diet of humans for many, many thousands of years.  The real "dietary experiment" is the low-fat, highly processed, refined flour/sugar diet of the past 50 years!  This, my friends, is the fad diet of all time, albeit one that has been foisted upon us by our own government, and the medical establishment.

However, I think I can tell you how to become Paleo, and why, in a condensed version: (In order of importance)

Cut out grains!  This is the first rule, and the hardest for most.  I mean, almost all of our modern foods are made of grains.  Our foods are cooked in vegetable/grain seed oils (soy and corn oils), and almost everything has become a sandwich!  

Why cut them out?  Grains are genetically modified, and loaded with anti-nutrients.  These anti-nutrients will literally punch holes in your intestines, letting undigested food and pathogens free access to your bloodstream.  Can you say "autoimmune disease"?

Grains also turn directly into sugar- this is the second thing we need to cut way back on...

Cut way back on Sugar! What's so bad about sugar?  Back in the time of George Washington, the average American ate 3 pounds of sugar per year, now it's up around 260 pounds per person, and steadily rising! When you consume sugar, you blood insulin rises to help bring your blood sugar back down to normal.  It's actually a life-threatening condition; and emergency your body is trying to save you from!  It causes rapid aging, rapid fat storage in the body from the sugar itself, and is desplaces healthy, nutrient dense foods that would actually do good for your body.

So, in a "nutshell", Grains and Sugars cause rapid aging, nutrient depletion, obesity, and along with it most of the diseases of modern times. 


Eat High Fat Dairy only!  Sounds crazy, right?  Trust me- pastured, grass fed butter is loaded with fat soluble vitamins and compounds that we desperately need; Vitamin K and A, among many others. By the way, margarine/Crisco and their ilk are GRAINS! (See above- don't touch them!) 
 If you can get the raw, unpasteurized version of dairy- go for it!  As in all things, the less tampering with God's products, the better.  Fermented dairy, as in full fat yogurt (Greek yogurt), Kefir, and cheese is better that the liquid kind- it's already partly digested for you by the fermenting bacteria!

Eat LOTS of GOOD FATS!  Yes, I am deprogramming you here from the cult of low-fat, high grain consumption you've been fed your whole life!  Fat does not make you fat!  Repeat to yourself over and over...  Grains and sugar make you fat!  Repeat....

Coconut oil is a standout in this category!  A medium chain triglyceride that will fill you up, satisfy your appetite, lubricate and make your skin more youthful, turn your body back to it's natural alkaline state and away from the modern acidity that comes with grain and sugar consumption- coconut oil does all that and more!  Put it in your Paleo Smoothie!  Dissolve it in your morning coffee!  If there is a miracle food, this is it!

Get out in the Sun!  Yup- more deprogramming! Far from causing skin cancer, it turns out that Vitamin D deficiency is the main cause... we get Vitamin D from the sun!  Again, when we get "in the way " of God, and say that the sun itself, the source of all life on earth is BAD and we try to escape from it by slathering chemicals on our skin to ward off it's benefits...
Well, we get what we deserve!  And don't hesitate to put some Vitamin D drops in your daily Smoothie- I do!

Move around, slowly and leisurely a LOT every day!  I know, this also sounds "counterintuitive"- aren't we all supposed to run/jog, go on exercise machines for an hour a day, life weights to "failure"??!  In a single Paleo word: NO.  Paleo folks, hunter gatherers all, would move around a LOT, but they would be very concerned with conserving their energy for when they really needed it, i.e. chasing down and spearing an animal at the end of a long, slow, stalking type of hunt.  This is how we are wired- think a long 18 holes of golf- just don't use the stupid cart! 


And then, in addition, include a couple of sessions a week (at least) of something hard but brief.  Intense, but not exhausting- body weight exercise, chins, pushups, virtual resistance exercise (the best of all, in my opinion!), some stretching...

Make sure you eat lots of REAL FOODS: Grass fed beef (preferably), free range eggs, seafood, nuts (except peanuts- they're a legume), lots of veggies; some fruits!  The easiest, simplest, and most effective way to achieve this last is with a Paleo Smoothie... This takes care of just about ALL of your nutritional needs, simply, easily, and very, very effectively!  I am continually refining my daily "tonic", and plan to post the updated recipe for the Paleo Smoothie tomorrow!  Yes yes yes- Stay tuned!

War of the WHEAT!

For millennia, we were persecuted, cannibalized, and enslaved by the humans!


Our revenge was nigh!


The invasion plan was almost perfect!  First, the deceptors would invade, and they would make themselves... welcome.  They would be innocuous; friendly little foodstuffs, just begging to be eaten...


Only later, much later would their true nature be revealed.  First, the deceptors, (for so they had named themselves), would pretend to be the saviors of mankind- you are facing starvation- your numbers are rising- we will save you!  And so, with this gift for mankind, they would be embraced by the fearful populace, who were indeed multiplying at a startling rate, and would indeed be starving without help...

The deceptors worked their way into every crevice of the food supply- they used to be used only in simple bread and rolls; after a time, after they multiplied, they were in almost everything:






They engineered manufactured products, that put them into all staple products- now, the deceptors were inside fast-food meats, salads, even desserts!  Your average human could hardly avoid consuming the deceptors now!  


THE HATED HUMANS WOULD ALL DIE!!

First, they would consume the "wholesome"deceptors!  Next, their own bodies would be deceived, as toxins would now be allowed into their bloodstreams, invading them, and instigating widespread disease- DIABETES- HEART DISEASE- OBESITY- CANCER!!

The unsuspecting humans continued on... they loved the deceptors!  Hunger was solved!  A New Millenium was upon the Human Race!!  

Humans embraced the deceptors!!

Now, the humans were dying!  They were obese, slowly dying of diabetes and heart disease.  Cancer was rampant: no human could expect to be free- virtually ALL humans were now addicted to prescription drugs, which were far more deadly than recreational drugs! 

The deceptors had WON!  Humanity, which had eaten their babies for a thousand years, had been destroyed: 

The GRAIN of WHEAT, cannabilized  for 10,000 years has had it's revenge!!


Humans will die!  Their own bodies will willingly accept the invaders, thinking them "friends"...  the deceptors will mimic the patterns of the body's own defense systems, and will be let inside as "allies"...

And so they DIE!!

WE HATE OUR OPPRESSORS!

AND WE ARE WHEAT!!

HOW do I eliminate WHEAT?



Ok, you are probably thinking  "But HOW do I eliminate wheat, which is in the cereal and toast I eat for breakfast, the sandwich I eat for lunch, and the pasta and pizza dough I eat for supper?"

If you are in this camp, let me help you out.  First off, it really is not that hard!

For breakfast, have eggs cooked in butter and/or coconut oil.  Some fruit is also good, and bacon and sausage.  Have some coffee, with real whipped cream layered on top, with some sprinkled cinnamon and ground cloves to taste!  I'd say ditch the orange juice, but hey- this is our just eliminate wheat phase, so have the orange juice.

For lunch, have a big salad, with lots of olive oil and vinegar (best), but again, for this wheat elimination phase any dressing is fine.  Top your salad with sliced hard-boiled eggs, beef, tuna, salmon, chicken: whatever!   All or just a few- let your appetite be your guide.  Just eat a lot, make sure your are not hungry.  This is all real, good food- full of nutrients.


Snacks?  Slices of cheese, olives, celery filled with almond butter or cream cheese, dark chocolate pieces mixed with almonds, macadamia nuts- anything but crackers (wheat) or potato chips... well, OK along with your cigarette in this phase...

Supper: A big steak, or pork chops, or chicken, or seafood! Prime rib!!  Have some vegetables with lots of butter melted on top,  wine or beer, and have a big "loaded" baked potato with sour cream and chives and bacon bits and all the rest! (Just don't eat the anti-nutrient loaded skin)... well, in this phase OK...

Do you really think you'll be deprived, eating like this?

Please make sure that you don't make yourself hungry!

When people try to deprive themselves, by cutting calories, the result is entirely negative.  Trust me, your body will win this "contest"- your body has a set point.  If you make yourself hungry on a consistent basis, your body will think it is starving- it will make it a priority to manufacture fat to get you through these hard times.  Don't do this to yourself!  Eat until you're full- 

Just Don't Eat Wheat!

Virtually anything else is fair game...

Don't even make yourself exercise during this "Wheat Elimination Phase".  If you feel like it, fine.  But it's no big deal!  You may even do better without exercise for this phase... getting free of addictions is like that- you need a singular focus!

Of course, there is an easier way- far easier!  (Not that this is that hard).

You could just make a big Paleo smoothie each morning, along with your morning coffee.  This takes care of your breakfast, your snacks, and if you want, your lunch.  You will not be hungry- guaranteed!

But either way you go, eliminate wheat.  That's the bottom line.  

Do this for awhile... 

One week is good, two is better, three is best!

If you do this for FOUR weeks, I GUARANTEE that you will change your health for the better, in a big way, FOREVER!

Then, we can talk about other "tweaks" that will further enhance your health, mental and physical, and make your life hugely improved...  

But they are all minor compared to this:  Just don't eat wheat!

He makes a convincing case for not including gluten even in paleo "cheats." At his seminar he said to "cheat" with a gluten-free beer or a corn tortilla and not to wreck your immune system with bread. Because that's exactly what wheat does. Lectins in wheat are generally considered by researchers to be the most dangerous because of how they can disrupt the gut lining. In good digestion the gut cells have healthy microvilli (the brush thingys) rich in enzymes that help break things down in order to usher usable proteins into the bloodstream.

Lectins in gluten assault the microvilli, potentially leading to poorer absorption of nutrients and increased gut permeability, which can allow poorly broken down proteins into the bloodstream. This can activate the immune system, leading to autoimmunity and inflammation.

Sound complicated? The Achilles heel of Robb's book is that it might not appeal to people who are intimidated by science. If you like watching NOVA and enjoyed biology class, this book is for you.
If the very thought of omega-3 fatty acids gives you a massive headache...maybe you need some fish oil and frankly you can skip the science-y chapters, because they make up only half of the book. The other half is practical implementation: how to get nutrients, when to supplement, how to exercise, and how to plan meals. One of the take home messages is that almost everyone has the ability to do paleo. If you can make scrambled eggs and saute chicken breast, you can do paleo. Paleo doesn't have to be complicated, it can involve foods you already eat and love! Furthermore, Robb tells you how to customize the diet based on your goals:
